- Top tips for looking beautiful!
Think pink
“Think pink”, to understand spring beauty trends. No matter what your
skin tone, a soft, pretty wash of pink on the eyes, cheeks or lips (or
nails) will bring your right up to date with today's fashion. Most the
major beauty companies have designed complete collections around this
beautiful shade. For example, Chanel's spring collection is based on a
palette of pink, beige, lilac and red and each product is infused with
light-reflecting pigments to emphasize the structure and contours of
your face.
The Foundation
There are three main techniques for
applying foundation :-
1. With your fingers
allows your foundation to 'blend' into your skin for a more natural look
due to the heat from your hand melting the foundation and creating a
skin like texture. Fingers also give you the luxury of applying the
foundation just where you want it. If you need better coverage
then dab on with a finger and tap. Don't blend, it'll come right off. By
tapping, you're pressing the foundation right where you need it.
2. Applying with a sponge
Sponges are great for absorbing, picking up, erasing foundation.
If you use those 'go on like water' foundations you well get better
results using your fingers. Sponges are perfect for heavy duty cream
bases, stick foundations, and oil-based foundations. A sponge gives you
better control if you use these types of foundations. Otherwise, use a
sponge to blend edges, take off excess foundation, or completely remove
your foundation. For a summer tint, dampen your sponge with sunscreen
first, then foundation. Note : A water dampened sponge does not work
well with the oil-based foundations. Oil and water do not mix.
3. Applying with a foundation brush
Foundation brushes give you great control. Foundation brushes apply the
product directly on the surface of the skin, as opposed to into your
skin like your fingers. With this, you get better coverage, and will use
less because it's not disappearing plus you can easily apply more as you
need it, without creating a caking effect. Just like a mascara wand
makes mascara go on easier, so does a foundation brush.
Favorite photography tricks
Dust a small amount of loose power lightly on clean or moisturized skin
first. Then apply foundation as normal. You'll get less break through
shine and your base will 'adhere' to the powder, for longer lasting
wear. Great for oily skin as well.

The Eyes
Today's eye makeup trends are radically different, ranging from a "nude" look
to a "smoky" effect to a "clean" style. But while the colours and textures of
makeup may change, one thing always remains the same ‑- the basic construction
of the eye.
The 5 Basic Steps for eye make up are :-
- Start with a clean canvas
- Assess your eyebrows
- Figure out that eye shadow compact
- Curl those lashes
- Apply mascara the right way
- Save your eyes till last.

Rule of thumb for eyebrows is to use
taupe eye shadow to fill in any sparse areas and give an arch a
natural-looking emphasis. Even very light-skinned blondes should use
taupe to define the brow. Redheads, or anyone with a reddish tone in the
skin, should choose a taupe or neutral colour with a little amber in it,
and dark-skinned people should try some brown shades until they find the
right shade.
The Lips
Strong
lips
During a season where eyes were mostly subdued and face-paint was
kept to a minimum, it was nice to see the one place where colour
repeatedly showed up was on the lips. From strawberry red at Valentino
to dark pink at Gucci – via black grape, coral and orange – lips emitted
colour.
This springs trends - juicy, berry and
fruity lip colours will be all the rage, so if you don't already own a
lippie that's bright enough to blow your socks off and light up your
face, you'd better start looking.
The Cheeks
There are lots of great blushers on the market that give you an instant sparkle, so go
for it!
Dust a touch of blush across your cheekbones and to get that killer
cheekbone effect, suck your cheeks in and use a neutral blush under the
contours of your cheekbone (remember don't apply Coo much as it’s only
meant to cause a shadow effect).

Tip
The key to a beautiful glittering party look is controlled sparkle. Don't go overboard on the shimmer. Choose only two areas on the face
to shine, such as under the arch of the brows and the lips keeping the cheeks and t-zone shine
free. Try Strobe cream, Mac, blended over the cheeks and eyes
for a pretty glow or if you really want to sparkle, add a bit of glitter
to your eyes or lips. Simply apply a little Vaseline or gloss than dab on
the glitter (This is not recommended For contact wearers).
The Body
To make your body shimmer, mix loose lace powder with your body lotion and apply it to the visible parts
of your flesh for that knockout healthy look. Remember it's not just make-up that can liven up a look.
There's lots
of great skin jeweler about. Body tattoos and Indian ‘bindis’ have become a craze.
