The theme of this competition is the Extraordinary in the Ordinary. You can take pictures of anything you like but what we will be looking for is the everyday viewed a little bit differently. When you were a child, did you ever look at your house whilst hanging upside-down from the swing? Or have you ever looked through a glass coffee table from the bottom up?

As Alice discovered in Wonderland, there is a whole new world out there when it is viewed through the looking glass; a world of shape and colour, of line and texture and your camera will capture it all.

The ordinary, when viewed from a different angle or perspective becomes extraordinary.

Bahrain is just such an extraordinary place made of ordinary things. The island of a thousand smiles, wrought from the desert and from the sea, its shimmering towers and myriad faces - we take them for granted; just ripples in the stream and yet, when captured through a lens these simple objects become remarkable because a blur of movement or a fraction in time has been held on to and preserved.

RULES

You can send up to three images per theme. Each image should have a title.

Your entry can be either colour or black & white.

Pictures have to be taken in 2006.

All entries have to be taken on a digital camera.

You can enhance your images but only for general cleaning work, sharpening, colour, contrast, brightness, saturation, levels and curves adjustment. Cropping is also permitted.

So get out there and frame Bahrain! Find the magnificence of the everyday and you could win a new Panasonic digital camera!
