Although Bahrain is an Islamic state the minority communities of Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and other religions are allowed freedom of worship. There are the following Christian churches:- |

The cathedral is used by more than twenty Christian congregations, it is possible to get married in the cathedral after swearing affidavits that both partners are free to marry - either at an embassy or a notary - and after providing a decree absolute if divorced. The cost is BDI35 and the Ministry of justice and the Ministry of Foreign affairs must stamp the marriage certificate. Alternatively the Ministry of justice can arrange a civil ceremony. |
