Welcome to Everything Cats

My tribute to one of the greatest, funiest, cutest, balls of furr that Mother Nature was kind enough to create.

'Cat - A small carnivorous mammal (Felis catus or F. domesticus) domesticated since early times as a catcher of rats and mice and as a pet and existing in several distinctive breeds and varieties.'

Random Cat saying for your visit

If you have ever lived in the Middle East then you will be familiar with cats, they hold a special place in the hearts of Muslims as it is said that Allah blessed the cat. It is well known that the Egyptians held the cat in high esteem and so it is rare to see a cat being cruelly treated in the Middle East. If you don't like cats then the Middle East is not the place for you as in every bin there are strays eking out an existence living of scraps thrown out by restaurants, private houses and local businesses. These valuable sources of food are closely guarded and if a strange cat dares to encroach then all hell breaks out.

The local cats are often very thin and because of this my Aunt calls them cut out cats. When you move to the Middle East it won't take long for several cats to adopt you and before you know it you will be feeding a thriving community of strays.

I had always thought of cats as solitary creatures but after many hours of watching them play in the garden, my opinion has  changed and I now realise just how sociable they really are. It is also amazing how quick the wild cats can make friends and shows just how well cats can integrate into a human society.

I would often sit in the garden and within minutes of sitting down I would be surrounded by the strays that occupied the garden. I would then be entertained for hours watching the strays play with each other. It was as if they where putting on a show just for me. Yet when I retired back inside they would blend back into the shrubbery and disappear until the next time.

I am now back in the UK and have 3 2 cats which I spend many wonderful hours relaxing and unwinding from the days troubles.

I was once told that dogs have owners and cats have servants and how true that is! Having spent over 30 years living, playing, occasionally swearing, talking and laughing till it hurts with my cats; has inspired me to make a page in tribute to the best friends any one could wish for. If you have ever owned a cat then you know what I am talking about. From the minute the little fury bundle or in my case bundles arrived, in my life my world was changed forever. So innocent and cute, they looked like butter wouldn't melt in their mouths, but beware! Kittens are gremlins on amphetamines, one minute they are looking cute and asleep in a shoe and the next all hell has broken loose and you can't believe that 3 kittens can make so much noise and mess! but what fun they had making it and what a joy it was to watch them do it!

Let me Introduce my 3 cats, they are all in their late teens or human years (Grumpy old buggers) and each one has their own distinct personality which I am hoping will come out in the photos that I take of them.

The Cat Stars of this page :-

Launchpad (1989 to 2009) - The oldest of my 3 cats and also the mother of Poppy.

Right up to the day she died, she looked like a young cat despite being 20 and the mother of 3 sets of kittens. She was very independent, but loved you making a fuss of her when she wanted it! Loved cheese, cream, paper balls & a sunny balcony.

Never forgotten.

Star - 20 years old female cat, the daughter of Launchpads sister and convinced that she is a human. She loves to talk and it is quite possible to hold a conversation with her. In fact she has an opinion on just about every thing and is not shy in telling me. Her pet hate is not being fed on time and when this happens she stomps off to the stair carpet and promptly plucks it as loud as she possibly can knowing that it will provoke me into feeding her! - Loves cream, tinned tuna, cat biscuits and a warm lap - Hates Beef, Being on her own.

Poppy - 20 years old female cat, the daughter of Launchpad, born in a shoe! Loves the outdoors and has an uncanny ability to materialise out of thin air when ever I go and sit in the garden. Has recently taken up talking after years of being the quiet one, loves yoghurt, chicken & a good game of mousey mousey. Has also piled on the pounds in her old age and is now talking more then ever.

Special Cat Guests :-

(1990 to 2008). Sadly no longer with us. MC Barney - The brother to Star and lived a loving and full life in North Devon with relatives. He loved to rap, eat & sleep and spend hours chilling out in the sun thinking about his next rap. Was in charge of organising entertainment and made occasional visits and so warrants a spot on this page.
